Complete intercom solutions
More than a phone on the wall
In an apartment block the guard needs to reach any flat. In an office, reception needs to reach every cabin. Mobile numbers change and go unanswered; an intercom point stays where it is.
The right system depends on how many points you have, how far apart they are, and whether you want video or calls on a phone app.
- Point mapping
- System design
- Cabling
- Handsets and call points
- Numbering and labelling
- Testing and training

How an intercom call works
From the gate to the right handset
- 1 The call point A panel at the gate, the entrance or a cabin, with a button for each flat, cabin or department.
- 2 The wiring Traditional systems run their own cable to each point; IP systems use the building network, which is easier to extend.
- 3 The answering point A handset or screen inside, labelled so the guard or receptionist knows exactly who is calling.
- 4 The release Where a gate motor or electric lock is fitted, the same handset can let the visitor in.

Frequently asked questions
Intercom systems, answered
Which is better — wired or IP intercom?
Wired analogue intercom is simple and dependable for a single building with a modest number of points. IP intercom runs over network cable, reaches across several buildings more easily and can ring a phone app, so it suits larger or growing sites. The survey decides which fits your cabling and distances.
Can you install an intercom in an occupied apartment building?
Yes. We plan cable routes through existing ducts and shafts where possible and keep work in each flat short. Where running new cable is difficult, an IP system over the building's network can be an option.
Can the security cabin call every flat?
Yes. That is the most common apartment layout: the guard calls any flat from the cabin, residents call the cabin, and on many systems flats can call each other.
Can the intercom work with our video door phones?
With compatible equipment, yes — a gate or entrance panel can ring the same handsets or monitors. We plan both together on the survey so the parts work as one system.
Can you repair or replace our old intercom?
We repair existing systems where parts are still available. If the exchange or handsets are no longer supported, we plan a replacement and reuse the existing cabling where it is in good condition.
How do we add more points later?
We size the exchange or network with spare capacity and label every point, so adding a new flat, cabin or floor is a matter of cabling one more point rather than redesigning the system.
