Smart access control for every entrance
An open gate lets anyone drive in. A guard lifting a pole by hand slows everyone down and keeps no record. A barrier or gate motor decides who goes through, quickly and the same way every time.
The hard part is matching it to the site: the width and weight of the gate, the space on either side, the power supply, and how many vehicles pass in a day.

How a controlled entrance works
Four stages every vehicle passes through
- 1 Approach The lane, markings and lighting bring the vehicle to the right stopping point.
- 2 Detection A loop or sensor knows a vehicle is there before and under the arm.
- 3 Authentication An RFID tag, remote, pass or guard decides whether it may enter.
- 4 Safety Photocells and loops hold the arm or gate open until the lane is clear.
Which solution is right for you?
Start from your site and its traffic
A starting point. The entrance survey confirms it.
A villa or bungalow gate
Swing or sliding gate motor
Opens from the car with a remote; the choice depends on space and gate weight.
An apartment or society entrance
Boom barrier + RFID tags
Residents enter by tag, visitors through the guard.
A busy hospital or office car park
Separate entry and exit barriers
Traffic flows both ways without queuing behind each other.
A factory or yard that must close at night
Sliding gate + barrier
The gate secures the boundary; the barrier handles daytime traffic.
Trucks and heavy vehicles
Heavy-duty barrier + loop detection
A longer arm and detection sized for long vehicles.
Entries you need to log
Barrier with access control
Every vehicle entry recorded against a tag, pass or guard action.

Frequently asked questions
Boom barriers and automatic gates, answered
Should I choose a boom barrier or an automatic gate?
A boom barrier opens quickly and suits busy entrances where vehicles need to be checked but the site is already fenced — car parks, society entrances, factory checkpoints. An automatic gate closes the opening fully and suits boundaries that must be shut, such as a villa or a yard at night. Many sites use both: a gate for the boundary and a barrier for traffic.
What does "duty cycle" mean for a barrier?
It is how hard the motor can work — how many openings an hour or a day it is built for. A barrier that opens a few times a day at a villa and one that opens hundreds of times at a hospital car park are different machines. We ask about your traffic before choosing the motor.
Can residents or staff enter with RFID tags?
Yes. A tag on the windscreen is read as the vehicle approaches and the barrier opens for registered vehicles, while visitors are let in by the guard. Tags can be cancelled when a resident moves out or staff leave.
What happens during a power cut?
Every barrier and gate motor we fit has a manual release so the entrance can be opened by hand. Battery backup can be added where the entrance must keep working automatically during outages.
Can you automate my existing gate?
Often, yes. We first check the gate's weight, hinges or track, and its condition — a motor on a sagging or damaged gate wears out quickly. If repairs are needed first, we tell you before quoting.
Will the barrier come down on a car or a person?
Not if it is set up properly. Loop detectors in the road and photocell sensors across the lane keep the arm or gate from closing while something is in the way, and we test them at handover.
Do you service barriers and gate motors?
Yes — arm and spring adjustment, motor servicing, sensor alignment and repairs, as one-off visits or under an annual maintenance contract.
